#peace and #advent #prayer

Prayer of Confession: Lamb of God, we confess that we do not always do peace well. We confess that we are not always the instruments of the kingdom. Reshape us, Lord. Mold us from swords into plowshares, makes us the tools of your peace through the planting of seedlings of hope, joy and love where ever we go, heal our hearts so we might in turn bring healing to others we pray… (Silent Prayer)…Amen

Practicing Being #human #paris

Tonight, I’m going to look at the stars. I’ll look and wonder and remember how big the world is, how small I am, I’ll remember beauty and joy and hope, I will count the countless, remember small things and think wispy thoughts.

I will look at the stars and think of Paris and Japan, of Syria and the Middle East.
I will look at the stars to practice my humanity, I will do it, because I need to pray, and I don’t know what to do, except to respond by remembering what it means to be human.

Tonight I’ll be one small human being looking at the stars, and I invite you to do the same.

What is #prayer?

Talking to God is like calling your best friend who you haven’t contacted in months, & the conversation is as if you spoke just yesterday

I think that is why everyone followed Jesus–imagine meeting someone who you could connect to like an old friend, and who obviously & immediately loves you.

That is what we need to talk about in Church, what if we could have relationships like that!

Great Thanksgiving / #communion #prayer #breath #taste and #word of God

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is truly right to give our thanks and praise
to our Lord God, who breathed life into us
Let us now breathe out praises
God, who spoke the Word to us, and that word is
Hope, Life, and Peace incarnate.
So that all might taste God in the breaking of Christ’s body,
and the spilling of Jesus’ blood.
So we might all taste and see that God is good

Holy Spirit, holy breath move once more among us
that the bread we break and the cup we bless
so this may be a kingdom meal
so we are nourished by Christ.
Unite and repair all brokenness
in communion
Grant this to be a communion celebration
among us
and within us
and throughout the world we pray in Christ’s Holy Name.

Unity, Prayer, Sharing

Lord Hear Our Prayer

We are one in the Spirit, We are one in the Lord, We are one in the Spirit, We are one in the Lord

and we pray that all unity will one day be restored

#Queer #God from #cisgaze perspective

Prayerful thoughts as my sister prepares for Trans Surgery

Queer means different, a different kind of God.

That’s the kind of God I know God to be, a God who is so varied that we MUST communicate with each other in order to start to grasp who Godself is.

This is why it is so VITAL to bring those who are different into the church,

I’m for the queer Church.

Because although I seem normative, I know that God made me unique.

kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery by filling the cracks with amalgam mixed with powdered gold, I was awestruck. Kintsugi is translated as “golden joinery,”  The new, reformed whole contains both the remembrance of that which was before and also what is now – something that had been broken into pieces and is now reformed, containing the additional joining amalgam that is noticeable and traceable.

Viewing kintsugi pottery brought to mind how quickly Western culture discards the broken – broken objects, broken people, and broken relationships. We fail to see what the broken might look like if we put the resources into mending the broken.
